Rules and Regulations
COMPETITION CENTER, DISTANCES, STARTS
- Maardu City Run takes place on August 24, 2025, in Maardu City.
- Start and finish on Stardi Street. The competition center is located 100 m away (across the street) at Maardu Cultural and Information Center (Keemikute tn 12b, Maardu), open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Distances:
- Stebby 5 km
- Neptunas 10 km
- Cappy Children's Runs
Start Times:
- Cappy Children's Runs (ages 0–13, approx. 200 m): 12:00 PM
- Neptunas 10 km: 1:00 PM
- Stebby 5 km: 1:04 PM
Virtual participation is available from July 20 – August 20, 2025, via eestimaraton.ee.
REGISTRATION & FEES
- Registration is open until August 23, 2025, or until slots are full, via eestimaraton.ee. Convenient payment with Stebby.
- Each distance has a limited number of slots, and prices increase as slots are filled – the earlier you register, the cheaper it is ("early bird" principle).
Fees:
- Cappy Children's Run: €2–€5
- Stebby 5 km / Neptunas 10 km: €15–€25
- Virtual Events:
- Cappy Children's Run: €9
- 5/10 km: €25
All fees include VAT. Virtual run fees also cover result management and Smartpost parcel delivery costs.
An additional payment system fee of €1 applies.
START MATERIALS, RACE ORGANIZATION, CHANGING FACILITIES, TOILETS, BAG STORAGE, AND SHOWERS
- Start materials are issued based on participant numbers (announced the day before the event on eestimaraton.ee). For the Cappy Children's Run, numbers are issued based on names.
- Organizers stop issuing start materials 10 minutes before the first start (12:50 PM). Participants are advised to be at the start area at least 10 minutes before their start time.
- The 5 km course is measured using GPS and Polar sports watches. The route does not include a race pass.
- Neptunas 10 km includes 2 water stations (approx. 3 km and 8 km, near Maardu Gymnasium), offering Neptunas water. Stebby 5 km has 1 water station (approx. 3 km). All participants receive bottled water at the finish line.
- Paid bag storage (€2) is available at the competition center from 11:30 AM to 3:10 PM. BRING COINS! Items not collected by 3:20 PM on August 24, 2025, will be disposed of.
- Participation modes: Running, walking, or Nordic walking. Finish closes at 3:00 PM.
- Outdoor toilets are available near the start and finish area. Changing tents are set up at the competition center. No shower facilities are provided.
TIMING & RECOGNITION
- Electronic timing is provided for Stebby 5 km and Neptunas 10 km distances.
- Timing chips are attached to the back of the race bib and do not need to be returned.
- Race bibs must be visible throughout the race. Covering the number at the finish line may result in the time not being recorded.
- Timing services are provided by Nelson Timing OÜ.
- Final results will be confirmed and published on the Maardu City Run website (eestimaraton.ee) within 7 days of the race. Preliminary results will be posted as soon as possible.
- All finishers of both distances receive a medal. Cappy Children's Run participants also receive a medal.
- Trophies are awarded to the top men and women in the 5 km and 10 km categories. In addition, cash prizes are awarded for the 10 km race. Award ceremony starts at 2:20 PM.
CAPPY CHILDREN'S RUN
NEW! The Cappy Children's Run will start on Stardi Street. Starts begin at 12:00 PM. Children will start and finish under the SPORTLAND arch.
- Numbers for pre-registered children will be issued at the competition center based on names.
- The children's run is open to participants from under 1 year old to 13 years old (inclusive). Participation with parents is allowed.
- The course is approx. 200 m and runs on asphalt.
- All participants receive a race bib, medal, energy-restoring gift bag from sponsors, and a boost of sports enthusiasm.
Approximate schedule:
- 12:00: Girls and boys (ages 0–3)
- 12:10: Girls (ages 4–5)
- 12:15: Boys (ages 4–5)
- 12:20: Girls and boys (ages 6–7)
- 12:25: Girls and boys (ages 8–10)
- 12:30: Girls and boys (ages 11–13)
Participants can join any run regardless of their age category during the children’s event timeframe. The schedule is approximate and races may finish earlier.
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participants are responsible for ensuring they are in good health when starting the race.
- By starting the race, participants confirm their physical ability to complete the course and agree to seek medical help if needed (medical assistance is available at the start/finish area and at aid stations).
- Participants are aware that non-participants may also use the sidewalks and paths during the race.
BY REGISTERING, PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO:
- The event rules and organizer's terms.
- The use of their personal data in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Receiving emails with important event-related information (reminders, offers, and updates).
ORGANIZER
The Maardu City Run is organized by MTÜ Rakvere Maraton in collaboration with Maardu City, the Integration Foundation, and sponsors.
Official channels: eestimaraton.ee and the Eesti Ööjooks Facebook page (Ööjooks).
Organizers' rights include:
- Hosting the event virtually if on-site running poses health risks.
- Cancelling the event due to heightened health risks or government restrictions without refunds.
- Making necessary amendments to the event rules.
- Disqualifying participants who violate the rules.
- Using event photos/videos for marketing purposes.
