Wave Starts Explanation

Wave starts, introduced in 2018 for Südasuve Challenge – Võsu, won the 2019 Running Innovation award at a domestic running conference. Wave starts reduce congestion at the start corridor. All participants can pace themselves from the beginning. Elite and recreational runners may start together without blocking each other. Please allow calm participants to start from the first waves.

Timing starts when crossing the timing mats, and wave starts allow safe passage through public areas without disturbing pedestrians. Parents with strollers or couples holding hands can pass safely.
