Rules and Regulations
TIME and PLACE
- The crossing of Käsmu Bay from Käsmu to Võsu will take place on July 17, 2021, starting at 12.00.
- The competition centre, registration (incl. registration of personal escort boats), initial instruction and delivery of start materials will take place in Käsmu Harbour on July 17 from 9:00–11:00.
- Start from Käsmu Harbour (near Käsmu Shop) on 17 July at 12:00 (participants with estimated finish time less than 1 h 30 min, mostly front crawl swimmers) and 12:05 (participants over 1 h and 30 min. Swimmers in breaststroke, dog-paddle, backstroke and other, calmer styles).
NB! Pre-take-off check of presence and equipment and additional instruction.
GOAL and DISTANCE
- The goal is different for the participants, from putting themselves to the test, preparing for the Iron Man competition, from strong training to the search for special experiences and gathering new achievements.
- The length of the distance starting from Käsmu Harbour and ending at Võsu Lifeguard House is 3.5 km.
- As a white Lifeguard House, the finish is clearly visible to the participant from the start and is the main landmark of the track.
SECURITY
- The safety of the participants is the first priority of the organizer; therefore, the organizer reserves the right to postpone or cancel the competition in case of unsuitable weather conditions. The relevant decisions shall be taken by a management committee composed of specialists in the field of maritime security and/or rescue.
- The start can be postponed within the same day or to another day. Any postponement of the start or cancellation of the event will be considered in accordance with the Force Majeure conditions. In the event of a postponement, no compensation shall be granted to the participant. In case of postponement, no compensation shall be payable to the participant. In case of cancellation, the participant will be refunded 50% of the participation fee, no later than within 2 weeks of the event that should have taken place.
- In case of cyanobacteria or other pollution, the decision on the possibility of starting shall be made by the management committee in consultation with the representatives of the Health Board. Also, in case of pollution of cyanobacteria or similar, it is treated according to the conditions of Force Majeure.
- All decisions concerning the postponement or cancelling of the event will be made as soon as possible, but no later than 1h before the planned start.
- For security reasons, the maximum number of participants is 100. First, a group of 50 participants is created, and in case of higher demand, it is possible (the organizer has no obligation) to allow other participants to register (up to an additional 50 people).
RULES
- Participation is allowed from the age of 18 (except Estonian Swimming Association licensed swimmers and participants with parental written consent)
- The participant shall confirm adequate preparation (i.e. swimming skills) and physical ability to pass a given distance
- The time limit for completing the distance is 2 h and 30 min
- The participant shall complete and sign a declaration of understanding and acceptance of health data and the risks associated with participating in the event at the competition Centre
- Calypso is advisable below 20 °C

- Calypso is recommended at 21–22 °C (inclusive) and optional from 23 °C (risk of overheating with certain types of calypso)
- Participation without calipso only at your own risk (signed waivers)
- Goggles, mask, socks are allowed
- Flippers, gloves and other assistive devices are prohibited
- Headphones are prohibited
- All participants are required to wear a floating buoy produced for open water swimming, which is fastened around the participant's waist. A floating buoy ensures the visibility of the participant on the safety boats and makes it easier to stay afloat in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- A personal escort boat (kayak, rowing boat, etc.) is allowed upon registration and instruction at the competition centre. The participant is allowed to receive assistance (catering, water drinking) and rest while holding the boat while completing the distance, but it is forbidden to gain an advantage when moving forward with the help of the boat.
- The organizer has the right to remove the participant from the water at any time for safety reasons or in case of violation of the rules.
NB! In case of violation of the rules, the participant will not be allowed to start or the participant will be disqualified (in case of violation on the track) at the finish (medal will not be issued and the result will not be fixed).

- Until 31.05.21 – 49 €
- Until 30.06.21 – 59 €
- Until 16.07.21 and on the day of the event on site (if there are places) – 69 €
Environmental fee (0.5 €) and online shop service fee (0.5 €) per participant are added. Participation fees include VAT.
Participation fee includes:
- All the technical arrangements of the race, including instruction, electronic timing, safety boats, marine rescue, medical assistance, free luggage storage and transportation of deposited bags to the finish line.
- Use floating buoy and after-finish service (water, sports drink, fruit, energy bar).

- Awarding all competitors with a unique and heavy medal, event T-shirt (Finisher T) and E-Diploma, exact distance time
